The Tabla instructions are divided into four year curriculum in similar fashion as a bachelors degree program.

Evaluation Criteria:
Students will be evaluated by examiners based on following criteria:

  1. Clarity of sounds produced (Bols)
  2. Ability to recite Taals in four speeds and describe its structure
  3. Remember Taal variations and compositions
  4. Ability to keep constant speed and do multiples of speed
  5. Ability to finish composition with Tihaii (triplet) and back on SAM (beginning beat of cycle)

The evaluation will take place at the end of each semester in the form of end-of-the-term performance.

Grading and Certificate:
Students will be graded by their teachers based on the above criteria and given a grades:

A -- Excellent
B -- Good
C -- Satisfactory
D -- Not satisfactory ( repeat semester)

A certificate of proficiency will be given to students on the successful completion of the program for each year (e.g., Certificate of Completion – Freshman Year with grade X)

Performance:
At the end of each semester based on the teachers recommendations the students will be required to perform on stage. The performance will be open to all students, parents and invited guests. The grade will be based on the performance and evaluation by the teacher done at the end of each semester.

The other semesters will follow the same program structure, the following segments described the Taal that will be covered in the subsequent semesters.
