Tabla is a rhythm instrument (drums) both for classical and popular music of India and Middle East. It is the drumming instrument with sole and character that is not present in many drums that only provide beats and do not add much to the performance of melody. Tabla is pair of drums that has its own rhythmic language that is well developed for poly-rhythmic patterns. Tabla has both rhythm and melody that speaks to the audience which is unlike any drumming instrument.
